Lahore - Wagah

A single day trip from historic Lahore Railway station to Wagah Station and from JCP Wagah border where each evening is a retreat ceremony called lowering of the flags. Enjoy the privilege of a special lounge reserved to watch the spectacular and thrilling parades by the valiant border guards, walk through the zero point, joy ride of traditional horse driven Bhaggie, and refreshments at sprawling lawns of Rangers Mess.

A very energetic and thrilling parade done by Pakistan Rangers serves as a grand entertainment for the crowds with grand pavilions built on both sides. Troops of each country put on quite an entertaining mock show in their uniforms with their colorful turbans. The ceremony starts at about 6 pm, with some smart drill and march by the Pakistan Rangers and Indian BSF. The Jawans kicking their heels incredibly high and putting on a show of mock face-off with each other, much to the delight of the crowd. A white line that came along with the partition in 1947 by the British demarcates the border between India and Pakistan about a yard apart. The soldiers drill with pounding long strides on the grounds as the two iron gates are shut with a final handshake. The ceremony evokes deep patriotic feelings and invokes nostalgia among the visitors and offers something that one cannot afford to miss as a short excursion from Lahore.
